Question: I ran out of cornstarch, what can I use as a substitute?

Answer: For every tablespoon of cornstarch, use 2 tablespoons of flour. Works great for stir-fry recipes!



Question: If a recipe calls for 1 cup granulated sugar and I want to use artificial sweetener, how much would I need?

Answer: Depending on the type of artificial sweetener you use, it would equal the following:

24 packets of saccharin sweetener (typically in pink packets)
8 teaspoons saccharin sweetener
2 tablespoons saccharin sweetener

24 packets of aspartame sweetener (typically in blue packets)
7 1/4 teaspoons aspartame sweetener for recipes
